Giant Rubber Duck by Florentijn Hofman – “Rubber Duck” is the title of a simple and original exhibition of Dutch art Florentijn Hofman has already invaded lakes ports and cities around the world.
This is a giant yellow inflatable duck funny and nice-looking, 12 meters high and designed for, as the author says, morale and draw a smile that relieves the tensions of the world.
Certainly a nice idea and original.
For those not familiar, Hofman is not new to this kind of ‘found’, just think of the enormous very friendly Rubber Duck, a giant duck that has crossed many rivers of many countries including France, Holland and Brazil or even the big wooden pianos ‘shipwrecked’ on the island the Dutch called Signpost Schiermonnikoog 5, exhibited on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the International Chamber Music Festival. An artist who I was very impressed at the immediate impact of his work, far from wanting to be something incomprehensible to most (as is increasingly understood in contemporary art), also aim to surprise and simply enjoy the what the public that not all artists are capable of doing.
